CRAFT FESTIVAL - Bovey Tracey 2024
7 - 9 June 2024 Craft Festival at Bovey Tracey
Earlier this summer, I had the pleasure of exhibiting at Craft Festival at Bovey Tracey. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Devon, the festival brought together an amazing community of makers, designers, and artists from all over the UK. Sarah James and the team at Craft Festival have built an amazing weekend event that isn’t just a market or an exhibition, but a real celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and community. From ceramics and textiles to woodwork and jewellery, every stall is filled with work that reflects years of dedication and skill. To be included among such a wide range of incredible makers feels really special.
I was delighted to be there with my lovely group of friends from Design-Nation Wales and south west group. Taking part this year were Bronwen Gwillim (artwork & jewellery), Judi Archer (textiles), Lindsey Mann (jewellery), Carin Lindberg (jewellery), Reworked- Sam Isaacs (lighting), Beca Beeby (jewellery), Bridget Timoney (ceramics) and Alison Shelton Brown (mixed media ceramics). Getting ready for the event involved a lot of planning, creating new work, sorting logistics, designing the stand, and making sure everything was ready to go. (take a look at a video below!)
We were all sharing a space as you entered the site, and this year there was a real feeling of celebration as the festival was celebrating 20 years. You’ll see some photos below of the ‘before’ and ‘after’, as well as some quick photos I took of wonderful stands in the main tent.
The atmosphere throughout the whole weekend was full fun, warmth and genuine interest from the visitors.
